CM B S Yediyurappa will lay foundation for the construction of the multi specialty hospital at Madikeri on 27th Jan at 3.00 PM.
Mysore-Coorg MP Pratap Simha tweeted that the long standing demand of the people at Coorg will bear fruit soon.

The citizens of Coorg, especially the lower-income and senior citizens have to travel to Mysore, Bangalore or Mangalore for proper medical treatment for any serious health ailments.
Some with very low income were put in serious health & financial distress due to the same. The new hospital will be a boon for locals and more-so the low income families at Coorg.
Madikeri MLA MLA M P Appachu Ranjan, Virajpet MLA K G Bopaiah, Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwathnarayana, District In-Charge Minister V Somanna, Dean & Director of Medical College & Institute Dr. K B Cariappa and other dignitaries will will part of the foundation laying ceremony.
A social media campaign with the hastag on twitter #WeNeedEmergencyHospitalInKodagu bought the need for the hospital to the forefront.
A well known personality from Coorg, Actress Rashmika Mandanna and MP Pratap Simha tweeted in its support and the issue became viral and garnered proper attention. It seems CM B S Yediyurappa who had promised to look into the issue, is finally doing the needful.
