Murnad gets winged visitors

Birds of the Egret family namely Medial Egret, Little Egret and Cattle Egrets with Pond Heron and Little Cormorant have become the centre of attraction of attraction these days for the residents of Murnad. Dr. S.V. Narasimhan, a bird watcher, says. “The favourable climate of the region during monsoon suits their breeding process. While Cormorant will migrate in August, Egrets may nest till October.”  Dispelling the myth the birds have come from other parts of the country, he said that these birds hail from Kodagu.
