Four wild elephants radio-collared in Thithimathi Forest

The Forest Department officials have radio collared four wild elephants in Thithimathi yesterday and are on a look out to radio collar another elephant.

The four wild elephants were radio collared after conducting operations at Abbur, Tarikatte, Hosahalli and Devarapura Devarakadu and the Forest officials have named these four wild elephants as Ananya, Akanksha, Makhna and Aiyappa. These four wild elephants were captured with the help of tamed elephants Abhimanyu, Mahendra, Dhananjaya and Sugreeva.

Tammaiah, Assistants Akram Khan and Dalayat, Kodagu Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Dr. Shankar, Thithimathi Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) P.P. Uthappa, Virajpet ACF Roshni, Thithimathi Range Forest Officer (RFO) Ashok, Deputy Range Forest Officer (DRFO) Umashankar, Dr. Ramesh, retired DCF M. Jaya & Dr. B. Navneethwere present.
