Elephant in critical condition after being shot at

An elephant was found with a gun shot wounds at Mettluhola near Nagarahole National Park. The elephant had received injuries at three spots on its right hind leg and is reported to have lost a lot of blood. It is suspected that farmers on the edge of Veeranahosahalli range might have fired at the animal, while it was raiding their farmland. According to the Vetenerain, treating the injured animal, the bone of the fractured leg was exposed and the survival of the the jumbo was remote.
