Ponnampet (South Kodagu)- Apr. 11 (DN)- Mukkatira N. Cariappa, a coffee planter of repute and a philanthropist, has donated Rs. 10 lakh to Coorg Institute of Technology (CIT), the only Engineering College in Kodagu district, sponsored by Kodava Education Society.
Cariappa has been instrumental in raising funds for the project, apart from making individual contributions and now, with this handsome donation, has helped in his own way for the success of the Institute that has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 1999, imparting high quality technical education to over 800 students from Kodagu and all over Karnataka and beyond, according to a press release from the Hon. Secretary of the Institute.
