Jamma Issue comes back to haunt again: M.C.N Protests to CM

CC Staff

M. C. Nanaiah criticized the out-come of the high-level meet attended by the Assembly Speaker, K.G.Bopaiah. The meet has decided to amend the Jamma tenure as per Section 79 of the Karnataka Land Regulations Act of 1964, he added. Jamma land was originally granted largely by Coorg Rajas to local inhabitants.

MLC M.C. Nanaiah disapproved Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa’s move to amend the Jamma land tenure without the knowledge of Jamma holders in the district.

Criticizing the Government for keeping the people of Kodagu in the dark, he demanded an explanation as to why Jamma holders were not taken into confidence, despite the issue being a sensitive one.
