‘Storm’ Front to hit Coorg

Music Festivals have become a toast of the country’s live entertainment scenario. With the audiences preferring music festivals and new travel destinations, the makers of the much coveted Storm Festival are creating an entire year’s musical engagement across India. Starting with Chasing Storm, New year’s Eve event,  at the Ethnic Resort in Bittangala  Coorg on 31st Dec 2014 & 1st Jan 2015; a compact, far more intimate version of the Storm festival, will stay true to its inherent promise of being close to nature.

Chasing Storm, New year’s Eve event will be held at a lush green venue in Coorg-its birthplace – with camping, bonfires, bar-be-cues and jam sessions.

Chasing Storm is the prelude to the main festival scheduled in the second half of 2015. Needless to say, Chasing Storm will present a crisper line up of electronic, folk-fusion and India acts along with an Indian Music Industry legend – Usha Uthup, who will do justice to the special celebratory New Year Eve edition of Storm. The singer is credited with of some of the biggest Bollywood this such as Darling, Hari Om Hari, Ki Yahan Nache Nache, Doston Se Pyaar Diya, Shaan Se, Ek Do Cha Cha Cha among many others.

Uthup who shares a special connection with Coorg, is very excited about her 1st ever performance in Coorg. “I nearly spent month shooting for Saat Khoon Maaf in Coorg and although our schedules didn’t allow us to explore the full beauty of Coorg, It’s certainly a very beautiful place and I can’t wait to get there. Also the fact that I will be performing here for the 1st time in my career of 45 years, makes this concert even more special. I’ll be singing in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and even Malayalam if my fans request for it. What a wonderful way to start a new year,” she says.

The celebratory line-up includes: a rare classic Bollywood and contemporary set by the legendary singer Usha, Uthup, Internationally acclaimed underground favourite – DJ Modium, Australia / Singapore – who’s a fast rising star with his dedicated following especially in the Asian subcontinent; Tuhin Mehta, Swarathma, Lagori, Solder and Live Banned among others.

Starting with the Chasing Storm New Year’s Eve@ Coorg, 12 other Indian destinations will witness the Chasing storm series to culminate in Coorg around December 2015 for the Storm Festival.
