Came across a nice article about Lal Bagh by Kiran Keshwani. You can read it here. It is interesting to note that Lal Bagh once also served as a cultural meeting point for the Kodavas in Bangalore and they held an annual get-together at Lal Bagh.
Kiran quotes from C.J.Devanath’s essay – My Bygone Days in Lalbagh:
…. that it was in the olden days, a venue for various social and cultural activities. One of these was the annual get-together of the Kodava families where one saw Kodava men, women and children in their colourful costumes, dancing and playing games.
Sight for sore eyes, not to be seem anymore. I hardly see Kodavas gathering around in their traditional attire participating in cultural dances. Yeah…but I can see many hitting Athena & Pebble to shake more than a leg.
