The iconic Kodava Hockey Festival to be hosted by the Kuppanda Family (Nangala) in 2015, is gearing of to the BIGGEST festival in the District has ever Experienced. Aiming to break the record for the number of families participating , the event promises to hold many surprises for the participants and the families that attend the month long event from April 2nd week 2015 to May 3rd week 2015. The Kuppanda Family begins preparation for the Biggest Kodava Hockey festival to be held , today marks the release of brochure for interested parties and sponsors. The conceptualization of the tournament and other activities has been completed and the event promises to be the First of its kind in Kodagu.
Along with Hockey , The people of Kodagu have always been emphasizing and looking after the wild life and the environment by all at individual and society levels.
The Organizers are looking at creating partnership with companies for sponsorship for the event to cover the cost that would be involved. With the help of Govt. of Karnataka and currently in talks with big name company that are interested in being involved with an event , The Kuppanda family aims to motivate more than 300 Kodava family teams to participate in this mega event with the main aim of getting a recognization in the Guinness Books of World Records, where the discussion already done and have received a response in expectation. The event has the backing of Hockey India and under the aegis of Kodava Hockey Academy endeavors to encourage and train the youth and create the full fledged Hockey team for our country in years to come which will bring glory to our District as well as our State.
The Kuppanda has taken unique approach in its preparation of the cup as it works to ensure that the entire community is involved through out the planning and execution of the tournament. The inclusion and inter action through the social media space not only promotes the event and encourages involvement but also showcases the many hidden talents in the community.
The Kuppanda family has decided to keep this wave of running competitions through its month long festival as it holds and events every single day this will run through out the Festival period and will allow spectators to take time to involve with every event that has been conceptualized.
Some of the most viewed sports Channel are in talks with the organizer to screen the event and this will allow recognization not only the sports but the High Calibre of the Participants also.
The Kuppanda Family are inviting the Media community to join them in the journey of the historical event. They welcome all the members of the Media Fraternity to not only cover the events and the activities leading up to the event but also be part of the event itself.
