Forest Minister and District In-charge Minister C.H. Vijayashankar hoisted the tricolour and the Kannada flag at the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in Madikeri on Monday, and the Minister listed out the welfare schemes introduced by Yeddyurappa-led BJP Government. He called upon the people of Kodagu to strive hard and rededicate themselves to protect Kannada.
On the occasion, ten eminent personalities of Kodagu, from various discipline, were awarded the district-level Rajya otsava awards. They are Jagadish Belliappa and Sridhar Nellithaya (Electronic Media) K. Mahanthesh, and C.N. Somesh (Print Media).
