Deccan Herald is reporting that Karantaka Janapada Parishat is planning to set up a unit in the district to protect the culture of Kodava and Arabhase community. The parishat president T Thimme Gowda at a meeting organized by the parishat said that the rich legacy of folk culture of Coorg is facing a threat of being lost and it needs to be documented.
The parishat is planning to collect information on the folk culture of the region and create awareness among the youth of the region.
Ramanagara Janapada Trust Managing Trustee Indira Balakrishna said that there is a need to make an in-depth study on the lifestyle and food habits of the people of Coorg.
