CC Staff

Here are  a few interesting views on her debut novel. Some have been positive and some negative.

“And in composing this eloquent hymn to her homeland, she made me believe that Coorg must be the single most beautiful place on earth.” – Sarah Johnson , Reading The Past

“Readers who enjoy this sort of lumbering storytelling may find much to be diverted by in Tiger Hills.” –  Chandrahas Choudhury, – The National

Some book critics may have not found Tiger Hills to be exceptional, but the debut has garnered one of the highest rating by customer reviews at Amazon.

Chandrahas Choudhury’s review is so much bunkum. The picture of a tea estate (there is only one in Coorg) shows how much depth he has. He accuses Mandanna of being verbose, but look at the first sentence of his review!

@ Sarah – That was a mistake, I was supposed to write ‘some’. I have corrected it. Thanks for bringing it to my my notice.

Hello, I just found this discussion online. Thanks for pointing out my review! I’m a little puzzled by the comment that I didn’t find Tiger Hills to be exceptional, as I definitely did, very much so!

@Aiyappa – thank you, I hope to visit one day! I admit after finishing it, I looked around at some websites about Coorg to see the beautiful landscapes so lyrically described in the novel.

Madhu, yes it is. At least in Choudhury’s review 🙂

@ Aiyappa. Yes. I also thought the novel is set in Coffee Plantation in Coorg. Is Tea Plantation mentioned anywhere in the book ?

Aiyappa

@Sarah – Coorg is really beautiful, you should give us a visit sometime. You are most welcome.
@Chandrahas – The story is set amidst coffee plantations in Coorg. I was suprised to see the picture of “tea plantations” in your review. Have you read the book well ? or just ran through the pages??
