The National Geographic Channel will air a documentary on the story of Indian coffee to popularise Indian coffees amongst urban audiences. This will air at 7 p.m on 6th Sept, 2014 and a repeat on Sunday the 7th. The documentary is made by Inner Eye World films, Bangalore, but was scripted by Kodava Creative Director, Kakamada Mandappa.
Mandappa, Son of K.N. Changappa, & Mrs. Ganga Changappa, (Buttiyanda) Studied in Lawrence School, Lovedale, Ooty and then completed his B Sc in Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai. He now runs a creative concepts company in Bangalore called {the chai kadai collective}
Mandappa earlier worked in leading ad agencies and is now a writer, photographer and film maker in his own right. After working as a copywriter on many big, national companies for their advertising, he was featured in National Geographic’s first ever, Mission Cover Shot for his photography. He finished as a finalist on the show and his work has been featured in magazines like Saevus and BBC Wildlife. This is his first full documentary script for the National Geographic and a subject that is close to home, coffee.
He has also done some work regarding Butterfly Conservation and conservation communication in the district and is hoping to now rope in his own projects.
