A bicycle rally ‘ The Great Malnad Challenge’ organised by  Bangalore based Tandem Trials Club was flagged off at Raja Seat, Madikeri by acclaimed  Coach and sportsperson of Kodagu  C. V. Shankar.  The rally was organised  to create an awareness on  the biodiversity of the Western Ghats.

Speaking on the occasion, Tandem Trials Club Secretary Vijaya said that the rally is being organised with an  objective of protecting the environment, with special  emphasis on  the ills of fossil fuels.

The nine day rally, will  cover Kukke Subramanya  Belur, Kemmannugundi, Muthodi,  Kudremukh, Agumbe, Kundapur,  Kodachadri and will conclude at Jog falls on  the 31st  of October.
